We have seen ENERGY is needed to overcome Inertia. We have seen the EFFECTS, the RESULTS OF and the MEANS TO Energy. Truly, very little of lasting consequence happens until Jesus gets our full attention.
Energy both requires AND results in CHANGE; and change is an inside job! Now we see exactly how that energy begins to work in the life of the regenerated and how it presents —
Growing up, I did not like spinach! In elementary school it was served almost every day and it looked yukky green and gross sitting there on the plate! So along with all the other kids, I dumped mine in the garbage. (I imagine the hogs all loved it!). But about then, something appeared ‘out of the blue’ that changed my mind about spinach — an animated cartoon series called ‘Popeye’.
When “the Sailor man” appeared eating cans of spinach, the energy in that gross looking vegetable morphed to become iron strength, and so it was my VIEW of spinach changed. I began seeing its benefits and results!
Practically, it works similar to this in the spiritual life – it’s an INSIDE job. (Rom 12:2)
When we begin to ‘see’ [internalize] all aspects of human life as God does, are there not real life BENEFITS? Does viewing the issue of sexuality at age 16 the way God does have a positive result? I can testify it does! How about everyday issues like Duty? Work? Purpose? Friendships? Obstacles? Challenges? Yes, yes, and many more!
You get the picture. ‘Seeing’ through the lens of what God’s Word says changes everything – enhancing our lives with energy and meaning!
2 Cor 5:17 says, “If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. Old things pass away; behold all things become new.” The regenerating energy of the Holy Spirit within begins a transformation morphing us from the inside out.
Romans 12:2 “be transformed from the inside out by renewing your mind. As a result, you will be able to discern what God wills and whatever God finds good, pleasing, and complete.”
It’s an INSIDE job between the Holy Spirit and You. True change begins with God and me on the Inside — and the Inside creates the outside. It starts when we give Jesus our full attention, then enact His views into our lives. iOi
