What Is the Crisis of Faith?
The crisis of faith is not simply that people doubt. It is that many who believe remain silent when neighbors, coworkers, and friends desperately need hope. A faith worth sharing must remain steady in trouble and move us toward others with courage.
We want a faith that does not fall flat during personal, family, or national crisis. Because God is steadfast, strong faith can look ahead without denying present pain.
Why Are Christians Afraid to Share Their Faith?
When I asked my young granddaughter why Christians often remain silent, her answer was insightful: they fear rejection, peer pressure, disapproval, or the belief that others do not have time and will not accept the message.
Those concerns are real, but they cannot become permanent excuses. Jesus said that a city set on a hill cannot be hidden. Through the Holy Spirit, believers are called to show and tell the good news that Jesus forgives sin and brings new life.
What Can Happen When We Ignore a Prompting?
After we moved to a new city, our neighbors mostly kept to themselves. I felt inclined to visit one particular home, but I did not go. Within a few years, that neighbor died in a tragic confrontation.
I did not cause what happened, and I cannot know whether one conversation would have changed the outcome. Yet the experience left me with a serious question: Did I miss an opportunity to offer friendship and hope?
People can appear successful while carrying pain no one sees. A home, job, vehicle, or smiling face cannot tell us what is happening inside a heart.
How Can Christians Respond to the Spiritual Need Around Them?
Begin by noticing people. Learn a neighbor’s name. Listen without rushing to correct. Offer practical help. Ask whether you may pray. When trust grows, explain simply why Jesus gives you hope.
Sharing faith is not pressure or performance. It is loving someone enough to be present and truthful.
The enemy’s work is to steal, kill, and destroy. Our mission is different. Jesus sends His followers to make disciples and bear witness through both word and deed. We are not responsible for controlling another person’s response. We are responsible for faithful love and obedience.
What Is One Step I Can Take Today?
Ask God to place one person on your heart. Contact that person. Invite them for coffee, offer help, or begin a genuine conversation. Do not wait for a perfect speech. A sincere question can open a door: “How are you really doing?”
If the opportunity develops, share what Christ has done in your life. Keep Jesus at the center and leave the results with God.

Father, You are the giver of every good gift. Give me stronger faith and a greater desire to share it. Help me notice people who are hurting, listen with compassion, and speak about Jesus with humility and courage. Amen.
