Putting myself in Peter’s shoes, I am writing to my friends – friends I love – about the most important thing to remember:

Dear Beloved Friends,

As I sit in the quiet of my tent, a flimsy shelter for this frail body, I am compelled to reach out to you once more. Twenty years have passed since that glorious resurrection, yet the fire of those days burns brightly in my heart. I feel an urgency to remind you – stir up your memories, lest we drift into the mundane and forget the extraordinary reality that transformed our lives forever.

Allow me to share what I witnessed, not as some distant tale woven from cleverness, but as truth rooted in the depths of my soul. I stood on the banks of the Jordan, when the heavens opened, and I heard the voice of the Majestic Glory declaring, “This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased.” The weight of those words, the authority behind them, left me awestruck and humbled.

Then there was the day on that sacred mountain, a moment of divine revelation at the Transfiguration, where I again heard that voice resound confirming His glory before my eyes. My heart raced with both fear and affection, a combination I can only describe as divine petrification—total awe before the eternal truth that stands beyond our comprehension.

We are witnesses to a realm and reality far greater than what the world dares to acknowledge. In this age of skepticism and indifference, let us not become dull to the profound nature of our faith. For what transpired in that one unforgettable week—when time itself seemed to pause and eternity broke into our existence —is more than mere history; it is the bedrock of our hope.

Pay attention to the prophetic messages that shine like a light in dark places, my friends. Cling fervently to the truth that in the shadows of this world, the dawn of His return approaches. Let us take a stand in proclaiming the Resurrected Christ, for it is easy for many to view Easter as simply another hollow holiday, devoid of meaning. But we know this is not the case! One week in human history shines uniquely bright above all others—the week that changed everything.

As we await the return of our Lord, let us keep our hearts stirred and our eyes lifted. Let us encourage one another, reminding ourselves that we are not of this world; our true home lies beyond the horizon of this life. The FINAL buzzer will sound, and on that day, the world will awaken to the truth we have embraced. For us it is the beginning of Life eternal! For them, it will be too late.

But until then, let us, together, make much of the Resurrection story. It is the very foundation of our hope and the promise of His eternal glory. [My transliteration of 1 Pet 1:13-18]
