We want a faith that doesn’t fall flat in the face of trouble. Whether personal, family or even national crisis, the faith we need is one that is stronger yet, right? A strong faith can and does look ahead. Because of the steadfast character of Almighty God, it steadies us, right? It’s a faith with virtue. Many profess to have a faith of sorts; but ours is a faith worth sharing!

So I asked my 13 year old granddaughter recently why Christians do not share their faith? Her answer was insightful: “They are afraid, peer pressure, including the approval of parents, they feel others don’t have time or don’t accept the message.”

Perhaps there are additional reasons you can think of. I can think of some. What are yours? Whatever the case, comrade, we must not leave this undone. Jesus said “A city set on a hill cannot be hidden.” With the Spirit of God – the Holy Spirit – inside us, we are the city on the hill. We are the only witness God has in this world to declare in word and deed that Jesus is the Messiah. He and He alone can forgive sins and save us from the power of the devil.

THERE IS A CRISIS OF FAITH IN OUR LAND. Everyone knows there are counterfeits and there are hypocrites. These have been and always will be among us, and yes, they may give us a bad name. But they do not define us at all. Excuses aside, the real reason for the crisis of faith in our land is due to silent believers. Yes, you and me.

In 2018 we moved to a new city and state. Our neighbors kept to themselves; it was hard getting to know them…not hardly even any friendly gestures. It felt like we were being shunned. I was inclined to go to a particular home but didn’t. Inside 3 yrs, my neighbor Doug was dead. It was suicide by cop, a great tragedy. I didn’t cause it, but I have wondered many times if I could have prevented it!

Here’s a man in a middle-class neighborhood with a nice late model truck, a good job and family and everything looked fine. But it wasn’t!

Listen comrades, a quiet war rages around us. We know Satan’s mission: “steal, kill and destroy,”

We too have a mission. Ours was assigned us by the King of Kings. Jesus gave this charge to everyone who chooses to follow Him (Matt 28:19,20). If you are not intentionally sharing your faith, may I humbly ask, “Why not?” If you are sick or injured, that’s one thing; otherwise, in this present crisis, we must daily resolve not to be AWOL.

PRAYER: Father, you are the giver of every good gift (Js 1:17). Give to me in this next season not only a stronger faith, but a greater desire to share it.
